Stoopid Kompewters, Again!

I wasted a total of 5 hours today at various times trying to get my dumb work computer to function. My boss "fixed" something on my email account that now prevents me from accessing my work email from my CHU, so even that option is gone. (He has really tried hard to get our stuff repaired, so I know the bad result of his efforts wasn't intentional...just bad computer Karma in our office.)
And the final score: Army 1, Leprechaun 0. (Too bad Navy isn't laptops...)

To heck with it...I'm gonna watch a Clint Eastwood movie, then hit the sack. Maybe a mortar round will land on my computer tonight while the office is empty, and I can start fresh in a couple of months when the replacement computer is delivered. Where's the insurgency when you really need them, eh?

  1. We had a networked printer that refused to work, even after multiple attempts to repair. We begged for a replacement, but were told that it wasn't really "that" broken. Mysteriously, late one night, a strong wave of gravity swept through the office and it somehow fell to the ground (repeatedly) until it was "that" broken. Science is a wonderful thing. :)

  2. Hmmmm...gravity, eh? We have a lot of that here on the could happen...Thanks for the suggestion!

  3. Oscillating-Reverse-Polarity-Gravity-Wave. Such a phenomena could happen again, right?

  4. All I can say is that the movie "Office Space" is on most soldier's laptops here, and serves as daily inspiration to those dealing with balky computers and pesky peripherals...
By the way, has anyone seen my stapler? It's red, and it's a Swingline...

  5. Clint Eastwood - John B's all time favorite! He had a pretty nice collection of movies we built up for him over the years. We even visited Clint's restaurant (Hog's Breath Inn) in Carmel on one vacation.

    Enjoying reading your blog.
